The power running board actuator motor for the BMW X7 G07 controls the automatic deployment and retraction of the side entry steps. Steps deploy when the door opens and retract when doors close and the vehicle moves. Failed motors result in steps stuck in either position.

2. Raise vehicle and remove underbody protection panel

4. Locate failed motor on running board track

6. Disconnect 3-pin connector

8. Remove 3 mounting bolts

10. Note orientation before removing

12. Install new motor in same orientation

14. Reconnect connector
15. 8
16. Test deploy/retract cycle by opening door.
