The transfer case service kit for the BMW X3 G01 contains the internal oil filter, magnetic drain plug seal and housing gasket. BMW recommends transfer case oil service every 60,000km. Fresh fluid and a clean filter maintain xDrive engagement smoothness and prevent the common shudder on low-speed cornering.

4. Locate transfer case below centre tunnel

6. Remove drain plug and drain fluid

8. Remove bottom cover (6 bolts)

10. Remove old filter

12. Install new filter

14. Install new gasket and cover

16. Replace drain plug with new seal
17. 9
18. Refill with 0.9L ATF M1375.4 via fill hole
19. 10
20. Check level at operating temperature.
