The timing chain kit for the BMW 7 Series G70 with B58 turbocharged six-cylinder engine includes the primary timing chain, upper and lower guide rails, chain tensioner, tensioner gasket and all retaining hardware. Timing chain rattles at cold start are the primary symptom of a worn kit.

4. Remove valve cover, front engine cover

6. Set engine to TDC on cylinder 1

8. Mark chain positions on sprockets

10. Release tensioner via locking pin

12. Remove chain guides

14. Remove old chain

16. Install new chain maintaining TDC alignment

18. Install new guides and tensioner
19. 10
20. Verify timing marks
21. 11
22. Reassemble and fill fluids.
