The variable geometry turbocharger for the Mercedes GLE W167 OM654 diesel engine delivers the 195kW output in the GLE 350d. Symptoms of turbo failure include blue or white smoke, loss of power, oil in the intake system and turbocharger whine. Complete assembly including wastegate actuator.

2. Allow engine to fully cool

4. Remove engine cover, air intake and intercooler pipes

6. Disconnect oil feed and return lines

8. Remove wastegate actuator linkage

10. Remove exhaust manifold-to-turbo nuts

12. Remove turbo from downpipe

14. Install new turbo with new gaskets

16. Reconnect all oil lines

18. Pre-fill oil supply line before starting

20. Idle 10 minutes before load.
